ABOUT BARBARA KENT LAWRENCE
Barbara Lawrence received a B.A. from Bennington College in 1965, and M.A. from New York University in 1969, and an Ed.D. from Boston University School of Education in 1998. She has taught anthropology, sociology, and history at schools in Washington D.C., Connecticut and Maine; cofounded and run a real-estate and construction firm; and worked as a real-estate agent in Boston. She lives in Massachusetts, and works in the Policy Program of the Rural School and Community Trust.
